Long Beach Museum of Art

In the Southern California/Baja Gallery, you can meet giant sea bass, leopard sharks, eels, seals, sea lions, white abalone, and other species found locally or in Baja. Explore the cold-water habitats of the Northern Pacific Gallery to meet playful sea otters, diving birds, sea jellies, giant spider crabs, and other animals. Travel through the Tropical Pacific Gallery to see colorful fish and other species that inhabit those warm tropical waters.

In 1967, the Queen Mary completed her final voyage from Southampton, docking in Long Beach, California, where she remains permanently moored. In the years since, the nearly one-century-old ocean liner has been transformed into a historic hotel and one of Long Beach’s top attractions, welcoming visitors to explore its storied halls and learn of the ship’s history through tours and onboard exhibits. The Queen Mary offers daily public tours and welcomes visitors onboard to learn more about the ship’s nearly 100-year history via exhibits and scheduled tours.

The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) is the only museum in the country fully dedicated to modern and contemporary Latin American and Latinx art. The space features a sprawling sculpture garden and massive indoor gallery in what was formerly an early-1900s silent film studio. MOLAA, with its vaulted ceilings and uniquely beautiful wooden floors, is a work of art in itself. It’s also conveniently located across the street from the Pacific Island Ethnic Art Museum (PIEAM), the only museum in the contiguous United States to focus on transporting visitors to the Pacific Islands of Oceania in an artistic intercultural exchange.
